Urine Stains can become a big problem and embarassment when
you are hosting guests. In New York City we know how cramped it can get in your
apartment and sometimes your beloved dog or cat just needs to try and claim
some territory for themselves
.
Often times, this claim for space will result in a urine
stain on your brand new (or old) sofa. When your pets have accidents on your
upholstery we do not recommend attempting to clean them with any of the over
the counter products available in the market.
Often times these do not do a good job and can actually set
the stains or even cause permanent discoloration to your fabric. It is best to
try and blot the stain out with a white rag and then if you want to try and
help with the odor use some distilled white vinegar mixed with water (about
50/50) and blot at the stain.
Of course, in order to remove the stain and odor completely
the help of a professional upholstery cleaning service will be required.
At PureGreen, our upholstery cleaning NYC technicians can
usually make quick work of urine stains and odors using our all natural
cleaning agents.
Below is a before and after picture we took at one of our
clients homes. This couch was cotton and had urine stains on it. The customer
also treated the stains with one of the over the counter products she had and
it made the stains bigger and left huge water rings all around.
It was not easy, but our technicians were able to remove
virtually 100% of the stain and neutralize the urine odors from the sofa.
If you have upholstery or carpets that are in need of
cleaning due to a pet accident, please feel free to give us a call anytime. We’d
be happy to help!
