Area Rug Overdye - Change the look of your Rugs!

We get request all the time from people who are interested in changing the look or color of their area rugs. Over Dyeing is the newest fad to hit the rug market and people are lining up to purchase color washed rugs from galleries all over the country.

Sometime, the more affordable solution would be to overdye a rug that you already own as apposed to going out and purchasing a new overdyed area rug.

With an endless amount of possibilities, you can really turn your rug into the focal point of the room and match it with the rest of the house perfectly.

If you have an area rug that you would like to dye, give us a call and one of our representatives will walk you through the color wash process and let you know what type of results you can expect from your particular rug.

We work with a lot of interior decorators who love the idea of being able to make any rug become the focal point of a room. Our over-dye rug wash process typically takes 2-3 weeks to complete and at the end you will have a beautiful, modern looking area rug that will most definitely impress your friends.

With our process, the dyes will be set in the rug so that even after a routine area rug cleaning , your rug will not fade or bleed. Some of our most popular colors are turquoise, violet, blue, and pink. Below is a picture of a Karastan Rug we recently dyed for one of our customers.

Feel free to give us a call today to learn more about this process!

Kilim Rug Cleaning and Repair in NYC

At PureGreen, we have the knowledge and expertise in cleaning and repairing all types of rugs. Each and every rug needs to be fully identified and inspected prior to cleaning.

Because of differences in materials, construction and design, using the same cleaning techniques for all rugs will eventually lead to a costly mistake.

Below we have a picture of a Kilim rug we recently cleaned for our customer. This rug for example is not the easiest rug to clean.

Firstly, the dyes are not stable at all. These rugs bleed and the bleed ALOT! If the dyes are not stabilized during the cleaning process, this rug can end up looking rather unsightly after it dries.

The second issue with this rug is that it cannot be dried hanging up like many other rugs. This rug must be speed dried on the floor and stretched out the entire time. This process is called blocking. A necessary task, because if it is not blocked, the rug will get wavy and never lay down flat.

For this rug we provided a deep cleaning and blocking. We also provided the customer with a new pad to help protect her rug from future wear and tear.

If you have a rug that is in need of a deep cleaning, feel free to contact us today and one of our Rug Cleaning NYC technicians would be happy to provide you with a free inspection on the work.
